New Medicare Fee Schedule
Effective January 1, 1992, Medicare payments for physicians'
services will be based on a national fee schedule.
The change was enacted by Congress as part of the Omnibus Budget
Reconciliation Act to correct long-standing inequities in the
physician payment system.

Georgia Senator Promises Hearings on S.68
Senator Sam Nunn (D-Georgia), chairman of the Senate Armed Services
Committee has pledged to hold hearings in 1992 on the commissioning
of DCs in the military.
Quality Assurance Conference Seeks Your Input
The Quality Assurance Conference for developing guidelines of
chiropractic practice (January 25-30 at the Mercy Center near San
Francisco), has added five more participants to its consensus
panel, bring the total to 35 participants.
Members of the chiropractic profession are being encouraged to
provide input for any of the guideline chapters.
Indiana State Chiropractic Association Wins Major Victory vs. State
Farm Insurance
The ISCA issued a formal complaint to their state insurance
commissioner concerning State Farm's claims management practices.
The commissioner ruled in favor of the ISCA and ordered State Farm
to correct its deficient claims' practices.
